Assimilate
Data assimilation brings observations into an estimate of the current atmosphere. Earth-2 Global Data Assimilation is the HealDA component described by NVIDIA.
The January 2026 announcement described this component as a later release. This explainer does not assert its current availability.
Forecast
Earth-2 Medium Range uses Atlas to generate weather predictions up to 15 days ahead, as described in its release announcement.
A forecast is not an observation or a guarantee. Skill depends on the variable, region, horizon and comparison.
Nowcast
Earth-2 Nowcasting uses StormScope with satellite and radar information for local storm prediction over zero to six hours.
Nowcasting is a complementary branch, not the mandatory next stage of every medium-range forecast.
Warn
Weather information becomes useful when responsible agencies and communities can interpret it and act. Bright’s final step explains that wider decision pathway.
